Frequently Asked Questions
- Q: What is a Shallow Well?
A: A well is considered to be shallow if it is under 100' and constructed above the bedrock. Shallow wells are also referred to as dug wells, wash wells or gravel wells. Shallows wells are dependent upon soil type and in most cases surrounded by a sandy gravel material. A screen is installed at the bottom of the casing that is used to hold back the sand or gravel while allowing water to flow through. Shallow wells can be used for drinking water and/or irrigation and often produce a very high yield. - Q: Who can benefit from Geothermal Exchange?
A: Geothermal Exchange systems are found in all types of buildings from luxury and middle-class homes, community homes, businesses, schools and etc. You don't need a new home to have a Geothermal Exchange system - simply have an evaluation of your current system by a qualified contractor for retrofitting ideas. In addition to heating and cooling your home, Geothermal Exchange can also provide a home or building with hot water. In the summer, when the exchange system is in the cooling cycle, excess heat that would otherwise be expelled back into the ground is stored providing you with free hot water, overall reducing the amount of electricity or gas consumed by your hot water heater year round. - Q: What is done with a tank service?
A: We recommend that you have your tank system serviced every year The pressure switch is replaced and adjusted. A new pressure gauge is installed. The Pressure tank is checked for proper air pressure. Well pump is checked for voltage, amperage & ohms to check performance. The integrity of the well cap will be checked.
